The Position: Certified Utility Arborist/ Utility Tree Trimmer

Key Responsibilities:

• Assign, instruct, and direct tree trimmers, equipment operators and groundworkers.
• Trim and/or removes trees by climbing with the aid of a ladder, safety belt, climbing line, powered trimmer lift truck, or work from the ground using saws/pruners.
• Removal or trimming of trees and brush encroaching onto utility or transportation rights of ways.
• Assume responsibility for the inspection and proper working conditions of tools, trucks, and other work equipment.
• Ensure on-the-job safety practices are followed by all crew members.
• Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.
   

Experience and Knowledge Expectations:

• Certified Utility Arborist (CUA or UA) or Utility Tree Trimmer (UTT), or ability to challenge exam.
• Basic knowledge of trees, including identification, growth habits and correct arboriculture techniques for trimming, pruning, repairing, maintaining and removing.
• Valid drivers’ license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift, move and maneuver up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis and up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis.
• Ability to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather and environmental conditions.
• Must adhere to the Company’s Drug and Alcohol policy.
