Job Title: English as a Foreign Language Teacher (online) - urgently needed

Location: China (remote, can teach from anywhere in the country)

Hours: Full time or part-time. Teaching times are weekdays during the day

Pay: $15-20 USD/hour (based on experience) as a contract employee

Overview

We urgently need to hire qualified online teachers for young students in China.

As a tutor, you will deliver English as a foreign language lessons to groups of up to four students 4-17 years of age. All students are based in China. You will guide and support students to develop and fulfill their academic potential using high energy and engaging teaching methods to encourage participation.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver instructional activities (curriculum provided) that facilitate active learning in a one on one setting
• Observe and evaluate student's performance and development (minimal assessment and grading required)
• Use technology to support instruction
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students
• Participate in training and meetings, as required

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree (absolutely required)
• Strong English (absolutely required)
• Experience teaching or working with children online (required)

Key Competencies and Requirements

• Because of class times, only applicants living in the Eastern time zone are eligible
• You have a real passion for education, and it shows in your work
• Authorized to work in China
• Stable high-speed wired internet connection is required - Wifi is not acceptable
• You have a fairly up to date Windows or Mac computer - Chromebooks, tablets, phones cannot be used for teaching
• You are at ease with technology, and able to adapt when things don't go as planned
• Contagious high energy level that makes kids want to learn
• Flexibility and adaptability to switch things up when a lesson plan doesn't work
• Classes take place during daytime hours on weekdays.
