What you will do as a Hospice Certified Nurse Aide:

  • Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
  • Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and families
  • Assist with bathing, grooming, oral care, dressing, feeding, and mobility
  • Monitor patient comfort and report changes in condition to the primary nurse
  • Support safe patient transfers and mobility assistance
  • Assist with changing linens, maintaining patient living spaces, and organizing supplies
  • Set up and maintain medical equipment including hospital beds and wheelchairs
  • Document patient care activities accurately in the electronic medical record
  • Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to support individualized care plans
  • Participate in weekend and holiday on-call rotations as needed

What we are looking for:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Aide program with current Virginia CNA licensure
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred (home health, hospice, or long-term care experience preferred)
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
  • Compassionate, patient-centered, and emotionally resilient
  • Comfort working independently in home and facility settings
  • Experience with electronic medical records preferred
  • Valid Virginia driver’s license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record

Schedule & Compensation:

Schedule: Full-time opportunities available with rotating weekend and holiday on-call responsibilities

Location: Serving patients throughout the Good Samaritan Hospice service area including homes, facilities, and hospitals

Benefits: 21 days PTO in your first year, mileage reimbursement at $.65/mile, company-paid life and long-term disability insurance, medical coverage through an ICHRA model with multiple plan options, and 401(k) with company match (100% on first 3%, 50% on next 1%)

Hourly Rate: Starting at $18/hour
