Job description

Name of the Project: Communities of Practice Content Creation & Employee Engagement Internship

Vice Presidency: Digital & Organization Development

Region: Central

Intern’s Location (Office): Digital Hub

 

Eligible Semester(s): 5th - 8th semester

Careers of Interest: Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications

Schedule Availability: Between 25 and 30 hours per week

Period of Stay at CEMEX: 6 months, with the option of renewal

Tentative Start Date: August 2026

Detailed Description of the Project

 

Project Objective

  • Support the Digital Innovation team by designing and executing internal marketing and communication campaigns for Leaplab, Smart Innovation, and Communities of Practice.
  • We are looking for a creative and analytical student who can help transform innovation initiatives into engaging communication campaigns and data-driven stories.

 

Challenges for the Students

  • Develop and execute internal communication and engagement campaigns that increase awareness and participation in Digital Innovation initiatives.
  • Transform complex innovation, technology, and operational topics into compelling content tailored to different employee audiences.
  • Leverage data and analytics to measure campaign performance, identify engagement trends, and recommend improvement opportunities.
  • Support the growth and positioning of Cemex Communities of Practice as strategic platforms for knowledge sharing and collaboration.
  • Create multimedia content that enhances the visibility of innovation initiatives and promotes employee engagement across global teams.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from different business units and regions to develop impactful communication strategies and campaigns.
  • Balance creativity with data-driven decision-making to maximize campaign effectiveness and audience engagement.
 

 

Main Responsibilities and Activities to Be Carried Out

 

Internal Communications & Campaign Management

  • Support the planning, development, and execution of internal communication campaigns for Leaplab, Smart Innovation, and Communities of Practice.
  • Develop communication plans to drive awareness, engagement, and participation in innovation initiatives.
  • Coordinate communication activities with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  • Assist in the promotion of webinars, virtual events, innovation programs, and knowledge-sharing initiatives

 

Content Creation & Graphic Design

Design visual communication materials for digital channels, including:

  • Viva Engage posts
  • Digital invitations
  • Banners
  • Infographics

 

Multimedia Production

Produce and edit short-form multimedia content, including:

  • Videos
  • GIFs
  • Motion graphics

 

Community Analytics & Performance Measurement

  • Monitor and analyze the performance of Communities of Practice and other internal communication initiatives.
  • Track engagement metrics, audience behavior, reach, and content performance across digital platforms.

 

Community Engagement

  • Support the execution of engagement initiatives within Viva Engage communities.
  • Help identify and curate relevant content, success stories, and innovation initiatives across the organization.
  • Assist in the development of strategies to increase participation and foster knowledge-sharing behaviors.
 
 

Specific Requirements / Qualifications

Academic Background

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in:

  • Marketing
  • Digital Marketing
  • Communications

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of digital marketing and communication principles.
  • Experience with graphic design tools, preferably Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and After Effects
  • Familiarity with social media and digital engagement strategies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights from engagement metrics.
  • Knowledge of Canva, Power BI, or analytics tools is a plus.

Competencies

  • Creativity and visual storytelling capabilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
