CCTech - QA Lead

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced QA Lead to manage the testing and quality processes for web and GIS-based applications. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in manual and automation testing, GIS data validation, and functional testing of large-scale, map-driven systems.
The role requires close collaboration with development, GIS, and business teams to ensure end-to-end product quality and compliance with enterprise project standards.

Key Responsibilities
1. QA Strategy & Planning

• Define and execute the QA strategy, test plans, and test cases for web and GIS components.
  
• Plan and manage testing activities across multiple sprints and releases.
  
• Identify and document test scenarios for both functional and spatial data workflows.
  
• Lead the QA team to ensure coverage and consistency across test cycles.
  

2. Testing & Validation

• Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing of web applications.
  
• Validate GIS data accuracy — map layers, coordinates, spatial queries, and metadata consistency.
  
• Test map rendering, layer overlays, geoprocessing tools, and API integrations.
  
• Automate critical test scenarios using frameworks like Selenium, Cypress, or Postman Collections.
  
• Conduct API testing and validation of backend services (REST/JSON).
  

3. Quality Control & Reporting

• Track and report defects through JIRA or Azure DevOps.
  
• Coordinate defect triage and ensure timely resolutions with the dev team.
  
• Maintain detailed QA documentation — test plans, results, and quality metrics.
  
• Implement and monitor quality KPIs for project delivery.
  

4. Collaboration & Leadership

• Work closely with developers, GIS SMEs, BAs, and DevOps for seamless release management.
  
• Provide technical guidance to junior QA engineers.
  
• Participate in client demos and user acceptance testing (UAT).

Requirements

Required Skills & Experience

• 5–7 years of experience in QA, with at least 2+ years in a lead capacity.
  
• Strong understanding of Web and GIS application testing.
  
• Experience with:
  
• Automation Tools: Selenium, Postman, JMeter, Cypress
  
• GIS Tools: QGIS, ArcGIS Online, GeoServer testing, or similar
  
• Databases: PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Oracle Spatial
  
• Experience validating map services (WMS/WFS) and geospatial data workflows.
  
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology and sprint-based testing.
  
• Strong analytical, debugging, and documentation skills.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Geoinformatics, or Engineering.
  
• Exposure to enterprise-grade GIS digital platforms
  
• Experience in performance testing and API automation frameworks.
  
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and QA automation integration.
