About the opportunity

As a Category Buyer for Automated Systems, you take ownership of a defined portfolio of direct materials and services to support QIAGEN’s strategic procurement goals. In this role, you strengthen supplier relationships, secure high‑quality materials, contribute to cost‑effective purchasing decisions, and support cross‑functional teams to ensure operational excellence.

Your tasks include

• Prepare purchasing plans for direct materials and services in line with category needs.
• Follow and apply QIAGEN’s procurement policies, guidelines, and compliance standards.
• Review, compare, analyze, and approve products and services in alignment with the procurement strategy.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of category and sourcing strategies.
• Take full ownership of your portfolio, including routine decision‑making and supplier coordination.
• Maintain and update supplier information, such as qualifications, lead times, and product portfolios.
• Manage supplier relationships, including negotiating pricing and contracts to secure value for QIAGEN.
