Job description

Pavilion Entertainment a new media company incorporated in Trinidad and Tobago. It is dedicated to the original production of media projects and the regional distribution of both original and franchise programming.

In pre-production, the Casting Director will work with both the Director and Producer to assemble the perfect cast for the film. Primary duties and responsibilities will be to:

• Maintain in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of new and existing acting talent.

• Match the ideal actor to each role, based on a number of factors, such as the actor's experience, ability, reputation, availability and box office appeal

• Work closely with Production Accountants to prepare the casting budget

• Organise and conduct interviews and auditions for each part, and also offer each Actor an appropriate fee to appear in the film

• Draw up and negotiate the terms and conditions of contracts with agents


Key qualifications and competencies include:

• Bachelor degree in English, Film, Theatre, Communications, Media Studies or related field

• At least 4 years’ experience in casting for commercials, fashion, television or film

• Wide knowledge of cinema and Actors

• Avid interest in theatre and stage actors

• Working knowledge of how to operate a video camera (framing, focus, etc.)

• Ability to recognise talent

• Keen memory

• Excellent organisational skills

• Ability to take and give direction
