The Accounting Operations Manager oversees daily accounting processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial operations. This role manages a team responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger activities while driving process improvements and adherence to internal controls.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions. 
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements. 
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting. 
• Develop, implement, and monitor process improvements to enhance operational efficiency. 
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing direction, training, and performance management. 
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and respond to inquiries. 
• Prepare and review financial reports, reconciliations, and variance analyses for management. 
 Maintain and enforce strong internal control environment to mitigate risks. 
• Collaborate across departments to support budgeting, forecasting, and other financial activities.
 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory experience. 
 Proficiency in accounting systems and ERP platforms. 
• Knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles. 
• Experience with process improvement and workflow optimization.
 

CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES / REGISTRATIONS 

• CPA certification preferred but not required. 
 Additional accounting or finance-related certifications are a plus.
 

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS 

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting. 
• Leadership and team management skills, with ability to mentor and develop staff. 
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify process improvements. 
 Proficiency with financial systems and ERP platforms. 
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure. 
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
