The Hardware Metrology team is looking for a system design engineer who is responsible for the design and deployment of systems, which carry out calibration and performance validation of various camera systems. You will be responsible for the full spectrum of the lifecycle of the measurement system - from prototyping to deployment. You will work closely with the Camera Design group to define calibration and test procedures, and design high precision instrumentation & systems to be able to perform this efficiently in both laboratory and mass production. As a Calibration and Instrumentation Engineer, you will - -Develop state-of-the-art measurement systems for Apple. -Introduce cutting-edge technology to people around the world to make their life better -Touch every aspect of a system, including hardware design, simulation analysis, software/algorithm development, vendor engagement, data mining and production validations -Work collaboratively with a creative and diverse team of experienced engineers from all disciplines, including Systems Hardware, Product Design, Reliability, Software and Algorithm

Description

Design, specification, development and deployment of camera metrology systems for Apple products. These systems calibrate and verify performance for use during Apple's new product introduction (NPI).

Minimum Qualifications

MS in STEM majors
Deep knowledge in one of the following: camera calibration, lidar or other depth sensor, computer vision, image processing, AI/ML, optical instrumentation
Proficient experience in programming with hardware and software systems
Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills, with native fluency in Mandarin-Chinese and proficiency in English.
Strong problem-solving capability
Estimated travel: up to 20% regional travel.
Ability to work well in a collaborative, highly multi-functional and fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

PhD in STEM majors
Deep knowledge in two or more of the following: camera calibration, lidar or other depth sensor, computer vision, image processing, AI/ML, optical instrumentation
Proficient experience in programming with hardware and software systems
Proficient in algorithm skills in either Python or C++ languages
Metrology system development experience
Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills, with native fluency in Mandarin-Chinese and proficiency in English.
Large quantity data processing & analysis capability
Strong problem-solving capability
Estimated travel: up to 20% regional travel.
Ability to work well in a collaborative, highly multi-functional and fast-paced environment.
