Job Summary
The Food Service Worker performs a variety of functions related to the safe assembly, distribution and service of food for Hospital patients; visitorsThe Food Service Worker supports hospital food service operations by safely preparing, assembling, and delivering meals to patients, visitors, and staff.
This role ensures high-quality service, cleanliness, and adherence to food safety standards in a fast-paced environment.
This position does not provide direct patient care.
Qualifications
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, assemble, and serve food for patient tray line, cafeteria, and retail areas
- Set up, stock, and maintain food service stations for meal service
- Deliver and retrieve patient meal trays as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment
- Adhere to HACCP and department food safety standards
- Provide excellent customer service and resolve issues promptly
- Assist with food preparation for tray line and cafeteria operations
- Operate dish machines, trash compactors, and perform routine cleaning tasks
- Monitor supplies and report shortages or concerns to leadership
- Support department goals to improve operations and customer satisfaction
- Participate in meetings, trainings, and sanitation projects
- Assist with training and cross-training of team members

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred (experience may substitute)
- Previous food service experience preferred
- Ability to read and communicate in English (role dependent)
- Strong multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to safely push carts and handle food service equipment
- Positive attitude and commitment to service excellence (I CARE standards)
