About us:

University Planning, Design and Construction provides the University with support through the services of: University Planning and Project Management, Design and Engineering and Project Development. The team is responsible for campus master planning, space allocation, design & engineering services, costing, leasing, and all construction and renovation projects.

Your opportunity:

Reporting to the Executive Director,Capital Projects, the Business Systems Analyst is responsible for the implementation, configuration, governance, and continuous optimization of the organization’s Project Management Information System (PMIS).

This role acts as a key liaison between the Project Management Office (PMO), business stakeholders, and Information Technology (IT), ensuring the PMIS effectively supports project planning, cost control, reporting, governance while providing ongoing training and support to promote system adoption and best practices.

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Administer, configure, and maintain the PMIS platform to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability. Manage user accounts, access rights, roles, and security permissions in accordance with governance policies.
  • Translate business needs into system enhancement requests, and reporting solutions. Develop functional specifications for integrations with ERP, finance, HR, or other enterprise systems as required.
  • Partner with project managers, finance, and internal stakeholders to gather, document, and validate business requirements related to PMIS functionality, reporting, and workflows.
  • Establish and enforce data standards, naming conventions, coding structures, and governance controls within the PMIS. Monitor data integrity, completeness, and consistency across projects.
  • Provide day-to-day system support and guidance to PMIS users across departments.Maintain and deliver training materials, user documentation, and best practice guides. Develop new training material as required.
  • Analyze stakeholder reporting requirements and design dashboards, KPIs, and performance metrics to support operationaland executive decision-making. Develop and maintain standard and customized reports related to schedule performance, cost control, earned value, forecasting, and risk.
  • Collaborate with users to align system configuration with evolving project management methodologies and organizational standards.

Essential Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of four (4) years experience administering or supporting a PMIS or enterprise project management platform.
  • Understanding of construction, engineering, infrastructure, or capital project environments, including experience working with capital project delivery.
  • Experience supporting ERP/financial system integrations (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Experience with reporting and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Proficiency in one or more PMIS platforms (e.g., Oracle Primavera P6, MS Project Online/Server, Kahua, e-Builder or similar).
  • Strong understanding of project management principles: WBS, scheduling, cost control, procurement, risk management, contract administration and resource planning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical system solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • High attention to detail, commitment to data accuracy and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
