<undefined><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is looking for a full-time Budget Specialist to join our team. The position is located within the Administrative and Technical Services Division at the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office Headquarters Building.</span><br></undefined><undefined><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">The Budget Specialist provides comprehensive financial and budgetary support to the department’s Financial Budget Manager and the entire agency. As an integral member of the finance team, this position collaborates with staff to process financial transactions and oversee a variety of purchasing and revenue activities. The Budget Specialist is required to work on site at the agency’s headquarters; telework is not available for this position.</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">The Budget Specialist’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">• Reconcile and process accounts receivable and accounts payable.</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">• Manage and process credit card revenue receipts.</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">• Prepare the State Compensation Board budget and reconcile and prepare the monthly reimbursement report for submission to the county.</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">• Reconcile and audit department’s monthly Purchase Card expenditures and receipts.</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">• Serve as a liaison with other county departments and external agencies for purchasing and budget-related matters.</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">• Manage petty cash and donation accounts.</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">• Prepare and produce a variety of financial reports.</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">• Assist with budget development and monitoring, including data entry of the annual budget into the county’s financial system.</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">• Collaborate with agency personnel to develop and monitor performance measure data used for budget development and program evaluation.</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">• Provide support for year-end fiscal closeout activities.</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">• Audit donation accounts and eCitation accounts.</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">• Provide backup to the agency buyer as needed, including entering Purchase Requisitions.</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">• Maintain records and files in compliance with the Library of Virginia records management standards.</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">• Occasionally attend Board of Supervisor meetings/budget workshops, as assigned.</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">The successful candidate for the Budget Specialist will be self-motivated, organized, adaptable, and demonstrate the highest standards of accuracy, integrity, and professionalism. Effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will exhibit strong customer services skills and a genuine willingness to learn and assume new responsibilities. This position requires excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to work effectively with staff at all levels of the organization, as well as internal and external stakeholders.</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Hiring salary will be commensurate with experience.&nbsp;</span><br></undefined><undefined><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or related field; three (3) years of related clerical/administrative work experience with computer automated systems and Microsoft Office applications experience preferably in government budgeting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">Preferred Qualifications:</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">• Knowledge of governmental accounting and budgeting.</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">• Knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable.</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">• Knowledge of capital budgeting practices, principles, policies and processes</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">• Knowledge of automated budgeting systems.</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">• Skill in use of Microsoft Office suite –Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">• Ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees, managers, officials, and the public.</span><br></undefined><undefined><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">Selection process includes review of the Applicant Screening Questionnaire and County employment application, in-person interview(s), and an intensive background investigation to include fingerprinting, credit check, driving record, and polygraph examination.</span><br></undefined>
