Bookkeeper (US hours)

Our client is seeking an experienced Remote Bookkeeper to join their growing team. In this 30-hour-per-week role, you’ll manage bookkeeping for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and clarity in every transaction. You’ll work with their Los Angeles–based headquarters (Pacific Time).

Key Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and receivable, matching payments to invoices and reconciling accounts in QuickBooks Online.
• Handle commingled funds and multi-party distributions.
• Collect and maintain vendor W-9 documentation and prepare 1099 filings.
• Prepare and reconcile sales tax returns and workers’ compensation audits.
• Accurately classify payroll transactions and reconcile payroll reports.
• Calculate gross-ups and adjust sales figures for accurate reporting.
• Utilize QuickBooks Online features including reconciliations, memorized transactions, reporting, and audit trails.
• Experience with Karbon workflow software is a plus.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of professional bookkeeping experience serving multiple clients.
• Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online.
• Proficient in sales tax filing, payroll classification, and audit support.
• Experience managing commingled funds and complex accounting scenarios.
• Excellent organizational skills, communication, and ability to manage workload independently.
• Karbon experience preferred but not required.
• Multiple monitors required.
• Experience with United States payroll practices and United States sales tax, payroll tax - California Sales Tax ideal
