Bookkeeper & Payroll Specialist
Advekit is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Bookkeeper & Payroll Specialist to support our clients’ financial operations and maintain accurate, reliable financial records. This position will be responsible for managing day-to-day bookkeeping, processing payroll from start to finish, and assisting with financial reporting and analysis.
The ideal candidate takes pride in accuracy, enjoys improving processes and systems, and can work independently while collaborating effectively with a team. Advekit is committed to transparency, compliance, and protecting our clients’ confidential information. An NDA is required for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and current financial records using QuickBooks, Open Invoice, and Google Drive.
- Process payroll accurately, timely, and in compliance with applicable requirements.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including maintaining positive vendor relationships and supporting healthy cash flow.
- Prepare financial reports for both internal and external use.
- Provide accurate financial information and insights to support budgeting and planning.
- Assist with audits by organizing documentation and ensuring financial records are complete and accurate.
- Use spreadsheets extensively for financial analysis, reporting, and data management.
- Work independently while communicating effectively and contributing positively as part of a team.
- Maintain a dependable full-time schedule with consistent attendance.
- Participate in 60-day and 90-day performance reviews, with opportunities for wage increases based on demonstrated skills, performance, and responsibilities.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in bookkeeping, payroll, accounting, or a related financial role.
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks.
- Experience with QuickBooks Payroll and the ability to process payroll accurately and compliantly.
- Strong understanding of bank reconciliations and financial recordkeeping.
- Advanced proficiency with spreadsheets, including Google Sheets and Google Docs.
- Excellent 10-key/data-entry accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial information and communicate findings clearly.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
