Job description

Centrillion is creating transformative genomic technologies leveraging engineering and biochemistry breakthroughs to accelerate discovery and reveal the real genome that has thus far been obscured by its complexity and the limitations of existing technologies. Our team of scientists and engineers is committed to making a new generation of genomic technologies accessible and affordable for a multitude of previously unapproachable apps. Centrillion is backed by venture capital and strategic investors and is located at Palo Alto, CA, at the innovation center of Silicon Valley and close to Stanford University.

Centrillion has an immediate opening for a full-time Bioinformatics Scientist specializing in Population Genomics. We’re looking for an energetic, innovative, and motivated person who works well independently and on teams. The ideal candidate will have experience working with NGS data and solving population genomics problems. The role will involve collaborating with other scientists and product development teams, so strong communication skills are a must.

  • Work within a fast-paced, collaborative environment with small teams working on a variety of projects ranging from new product development to DNA data analysis
  • Develop and apply new population genomics algorithms tailored to the company's new and existing products
  • Guide future product development based on advances in the field of population genomics

  • Strong background in mathematics/statistics/bioinformatics with a degree in a related field.
  • Strong analytical, coding, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience with population genomics methods, including building models for population classification using allele frequency data
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language
  • Experience analyzing NGS data sets

All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
