Shape the Quality of World-Class Design Projects

SAOTA is seeking a BIM Project Quality Coordinator to support studio-wide project delivery by proactively monitoring and improving model quality across live projects.

This role sits at the intersection of project delivery, BIM standards, quality assurance, and skills development. You will work closely with project teams, technical specialists, and the BIM Manager to identify risks early, coordinate model reviews, track corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement across the studio.

Importantly, this is a preventative and support-focused role. Rather than taking ownership of project quality away from teams, you will help ensure that model health remains visible, measurable, and actively managed throughout the project lifecycle.

If you are passionate about BIM excellence, enjoy working across multiple projects, and have a strong eye for quality and accountability, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Project Monitoring & Early Intervention

  • Monitor project programmes, Gantt charts, and management workbooks to anticipate upcoming workstage milestones.
  • Schedule and facilitate proactive model quality check-ins ahead of key deliverables.
  • Identify risks in under-resourced, highly complex, or high-priority projects and escalate concerns where required.
  • Maintain intervention records, including agreed actions, responsible owners, and follow-up dates.

Model Quality & Audits

  • Coordinate and review automated model audits across active projects.
  • Conduct manual checklist-based reviews for quality issues not captured through automation.
  • Coordinate mid-stage (50%) and stage-completion model reviews.
  • Ensure quality audits and reporting are completed when projects pause, restart, or transition between teams.
  • Perform random spot checks on live projects and escalate recurring quality concerns.

Standards & Quality Framework Development

  • Support the BIM Manager in defining and maintaining model quality expectations for each project workstage.
  • Develop and maintain audit checklists, grading criteria, and quality review processes.
  • Assist with BIM Execution Plan (BEP) content relating to model quality, standards, and responsibilities.
  • Monitor compliance with naming conventions, file structures, templates, view standards, and studio BIM requirements.

Accountability & Action Tracking

  • Support project teams in identifying and recording a designated model health owner for each project.
  • Issue audit findings and track the progress of corrective actions.
  • Escalate unresolved or repeated non-compliance issues to the BIM Manager and relevant project leaders.

Training & Knowledge Sharing

  • Analyse recurring modelling issues and convert findings into practical guidance, resources, and best practices.
  • Develop FAQ documents, checklists, and support resources for project teams.
  • Contribute audit-driven learning content to the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Monitor Revit capability across teams and recommend targeted training interventions.
  • Support focused training sessions for supervisory, senior, and experienced technical staff.

Reporting & Communication

  • Produce regular model health and quality reporting across projects and teams.
  • Identify and communicate recurring risks, quality trends, and skills gaps.
  • Contribute to BIM reporting presented to Principals and EXCO.
  • Liaise closely with project leaders, technical specialists, and BIM support teams to ensure coordinated improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Essential

  • Degree or Diploma in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in BIM coordination, digital delivery, or a technical Revit-focused environment.
  • Proven experience auditing, reviewing, or managing Revit model quality on live projects.
  • Experience collaborating across multiple project teams and workstages.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to balance technical quality requirements with project delivery needs.

Advantageous

  • Experience using Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or a comparable Common Data Environment (CDE).
  • Knowledge of Dynamo, Revit API, or BIM automation tools.
  • Exposure to Power BI or other data analytics platforms.
  • Experience delivering training, mentoring, or technical capability development initiatives.

What Success Looks Like

In this role, you will help create a culture of proactive model quality management across the studio, ensuring issues are identified early, standards remain consistent, teams are supported, and projects are delivered with confidence.

Join us and help drive BIM excellence across some of the world's most ambitious architectural projects.
