Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and motivated Behavioral Health Vocational Specialist (Qualified Professional/QP) to join our Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) in Winston-Salem, NC.
As part of our multidisciplinary ACTT team, you'll work directly with individuals living with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI), helping them achieve meaningful employment, increase independence, and build fulfilling lives within their communities. ACTT is often described as a "hospital without walls," delivering comprehensive behavioral health services wherever individuals live, work, and thrive.

Position Summary
The Behavioral Health Vocational Specialist provides individualized supported employment services that help individuals identify career goals, obtain competitive employment, and maintain long-term job success. Working collaboratively with the ACTT multidisciplinary team, you'll also assist with community integration, housing stability, and recovery planning while delivering person-centered, strengths-based services.
What You'll Do
Employment & Vocational Services

Assist individuals in identifying career interests, strengths, and employment goals.

Provide job readiness coaching, resume development, interview preparation, and job search assistance.

Develop relationships with local employers and community partners to create employment opportunities.

Provide ongoing job coaching and employment retention support.

Advocate for competitive, integrated employment that aligns with each individual's recovery goals.
Community Support & Housing
-
Assist individuals in obtaining and maintaining stable housing.

Connect clients with transportation, benefits, vocational resources, and community services.

Support independent living skills, budgeting, and community integration.

Help individuals overcome barriers that impact employment and long-term stability.
Treatment Team Collaboration
-
Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and daily ACTT team meetings.

Coordinate care with families, healthcare providers, employers, referral sources, and community agencies.

Provide recommendations and progress updates that support recovery-focused treatment planning.
Documentation & Compliance
-
Complete accurate, timely clinical documentation and service notes.

Maintain compliance with Medicaid, ACTT, CARF, DHHS, and Pyramid Healthcare standards.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer record reviews.
Community-Based Services

Deliver services in homes, workplaces, and throughout the community.

Provide client transportation when appropriate.

Participate in rotating crisis response and on-call coverage as assigned.

Assist with hospital diversion and community stabilization efforts.
Qualifications
Required
-
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field.

Must meet Qualified Professional (QP) requirements under 10A NCAC 27G.0104.

Valid North Carolina driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Ability to work independently in community settings and transport clients as needed.
Preferred
-
Experience with ACTT, community mental health, supported employment, vocational rehabilitation, behavioral health, or case management.

Experience serving individuals with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI).
-
Master's degree in a Human Services-related field.
