POSITION: BADGE PRODUCTION SPECIALIST

DEPARTMENT :  CAMPUS POLICE

SHIFT: DAY SHIFT INCLUDES WEEKENDS, HOLIDAYS

STATUS: FULL TIME / 80 HOURS PER PAY PERIOD

FACILITY: MIAMI VALLEY HOSPITAL

 

The Badge Production Specialist is responsible for fulfilling secretarial duties to support department leadership. The Badge Production Specialist shares in the responsibility for the smooth operation and efficient functioning of the department. The position requires independent problem solving and excellent interpersonal skills. Responsible for the information management of the major functions of the department.

 

Education:

Minimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GED 

Experience Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3 years of job-related experience 

Preferred experience: 3 – 5 Years of Hospital or related experience preferred 

Essential Duties & Functions: 

Responsible for all aspects of badging for MVH, MVHN, MVHS, Austin Landing and Jamestown.

 • Includes preparing new badges for new employees, transferring employees, contractors, vendors, volunteers, medical staff, physician offices and staff, Five Rivers staff, agency employees, Fidelity, Compunet, clergy, students and others. 

• Tasks include: o Determine appropriate badge type and action to be taken dependent upon position and situation. o Prepare and/or change badge profile in both Lenel and Matrix system. o Assign and/or evaluate building access and parking dependent upon position and need. o Coordinate and work with different departments such as Medical Staff, Volunteer Services, Medical Education, Clinical Educators, Human Resources, etc. 

• Daily receipt and processing of requests for change of building access. Assign building access after determination of proper authorization. 

• Daily replacement of lost badges, damaged badges, processing name changes and credential changes.

 • Work with Physician Liaison and assigning physician gym access.

 • Assign Wellness Center to employees on a daily basis. 

• Prepare and distribute student badges for nursing students and APP students. Coordinate closely with the Learning Institute. Track badges to ensure return of badges at end of student clinical.

 • Prepare and distribute student badges for medical students performing research. Coordinate closely with Clinical Research. 

• Prepare and distribute WSU medical student badges.

 • Prepare and distribute medical resident badges for all medical residents, including contracted, noncontracted, Grandview residents and Dayton Children’s residents. 

• Maintenance and upkeep of time and attendance number log. 

• Daily troubleshooting, investigation and resolution of badging issues ranging from no access, reactivations, payroll issues, etc. 

• Replacement of lost badges, damaged badges, title changes, name changes, credential changes, etc. 

• Deactivate badges of terminated employees and others on a monthly basis and as needed.
