Backend Software Engineer (m/f/d)

About

Terramate enables teams to build, deploy, manage and observe cloud infrastructure with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, OpenTofu, Kubernetes and others.

We are hiring Backend Engineers as individual contributors to develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve Terramate Cloud. You should have professional experience in building high-quality software on scale. CS degree and experience in Infrastructure as Code are a plus.

Work is hybrid. We expect you to work at least 3 days/week in our office in Berlin. The remaining time can be worked remotely from home. We work exclusively with senior engineers in small, lean, and self-organized teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

• Software development experience with Go and relevant test frameworks.

• Hands-on experience writing software in professional environments.

• Passion for clear, clean, well-factored code.

• Hands-on experience with microservices, container and cloud-native application development.

• Remote work within time zones UTC-2 to UTC+4. (Berlin time +/- 3 hours).

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve Terramate Cloud.

• Contribute to architecture decisions and perform code reviews for your peers.

• Comfort in working in short, agile, iterative development cycles and a strong desire to work in a fast-moving startup environment.

About our process

The interviewing process contains the following stages:

• Introduction Call (~30 min. Introduction of the company and initial get to know each other)

• Tech I (60 min. Programming Languages and Coding with an engineer of our team)

• Tech II (120 min. Architecture, APIs and Systems Design - onsite in our Berlin office)

• Get to know the CEO (60 min. Personal and cultural fit as well as explaining our company culture)

• Offer Call (30 min. Discuss your offer, package and career plan)
