Job Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end to end migration of data platforms from Azure Databricks to Databricks on GCP
- Assess existing Azure data architecture involving ADF, Databricks, Synapse, AAS, ADLS, and related services
- Design target state architecture on GCP using Databricks, GCS, BigQuery (where applicable) and other native GCP services
- Define migration patterns for:

- Spark based Data Engineering workloads
- Delta Lake tables
- Job orchestration and scheduling
- Security, identity, and data access controls
- Optimize Databricks workloads for cost, performance, and scalability on GCP
- Collaborate with BI teams (e.g., Power BI) to ensure reporting continuity during and after migration
- Provide technical leadership to data engineers and reviewers during implementation
Required Skills & Experience
- 15+ years in data engineering and analytics architecture
- Strong hands on expertise with Databricks (Azure and/or GCP)
- Proven experience migrating Spark/Databricks workloads across cloud platforms
- Solid understanding of:

- Delta Lake internals
- Cluster sizing and tuning
- Job orchestration and monitoring
- Experience with Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse, AAS
- Strong SQL, PySpark, and data modeling skills
- Exposure to Unity Catalog, data governance, and fine grained access control
