Job Description
As an Avionics Technician at AstroForge, you'll be turning technical designs into mission-critical components. You’ll be responsible for both assembling small printed circuit boards (PCBs), reworking larger ones, and fabricating complex cable harnesses. This includes tasks like soldering intricate components, building wire assemblies, and integrating electrical systems. Your role will require a blend of precision, speed, and problem-solving, as you'll be working on both space and ground systems in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, quality and reliability are paramount.
Responsibilities

- Fabricate and route complex harnesses, including wiring, connectors, and terminations, ensuring high-reliability performance for mission-critical systems.
- Perform detailed work using drawings, schematics, and written/verbal instructions to fabricate and install harnesses and electrical components.
- Procure and source electrical components under the direction of leads and engineers as required.
- Perform rework and repairs on PCBs, cable harnesses, and other electrical assemblies.
- Troubleshoot, test, and validate electrical systems, including harnesses, ensuring compliance with high-reliability standards.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in aerospace or high-reliability environments, with a strong background in both PCB assembly and harnessing.
- Proficiency in building and troubleshooting cable harness assemblies, including wiring and connector terminations.
- Strong skills in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and documentation, with the ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
- Hands-on experience with standard electronics assembly tools, hand soldering, multimeters, power supplies, and test equipment.
- IPC-620 certification (current or previous)
- Strong self starter with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, maintaining precision and quality.
- Must be able to work onsite in Seal Beach, CA.
Preferred Requirements
- Technical degree in electronics, avionics, or a related field.
- IPC-620-Space or NASA-STD 8739.4 certification (current or previous) or equivalent training.
- Previous experience with hipot testing, applying staking material, and applying conformal coat to printed circuit boards
- Experience working with energized power systems, high-voltage systems, battery systems, or RF assemblies.
- J-STD-001 certification (current or previous)
Benefits
- 100% paid medical, dental, and life insurance coverage
- Vision and FSA benefits available
- 3 weeks of PTO + 1 week of sick time
- 10 paid Holidays
