Description:
Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a customer-focused Clinical Authorization Specialist – High Tech Radiology. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing, submitting, monitoring and responding to issues regarding medical necessity prior authorizations for high tech radiology services, procedures and/or DME (Durable Medical Equipment) for IHA patients in multiple offices.
What You'll Do:
- Contact insurance companies and obtain authorization.
- Reviews patient medical history to identify supporting documentation in the patient chart relevant to the service or procedure.
- Performs data collection and data review as required.
- Educate patients and staff with pertinent referral and insurance information.
- Obtains urgent authorizations same day and next day.
- Support referrals, authorizations, and patient outreach activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation and patient records.
General Requirements:
- EDUCATION: High School Diploma
- CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE: None
- MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2 years’ experience with insurance referrals, prior authorization or other relevant medical office experience.
