We are seeking an experienced Associate Vice President (AVP) – Engineering to lead engineering delivery, release management, and client support operations for large-scale enterprise platforms. This role is ideal for a technology leader with a strong background in backend engineering, microservices architecture, and operational excellence who is passionate about building high-performing teams and delivering reliable, scalable software solutions.
As an AVP – Engineering, you will provide strategic and technical leadership across engineering, DevOps, and client support functions while ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery across multiple enterprise engagements. You will work closely with product, architecture, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to drive engineering best practices, streamline release processes, improve production stability, and foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and scale high-performing engineering managers, technical leads, and backend engineering teams.
- Drive architecture, design, and delivery of scalable Java-based microservices and distributed applications.
- Establish engineering standards for code quality, testing, API governance, CI/CD, and software development best practices.
- Oversee end-to-end engineering delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.
- Own the complete release management lifecycle, including planning, scheduling, risk assessment, deployment, and release governance.
- Improve deployment automation, release predictability, rollback strategies, and zero-downtime delivery practices.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to enhance cloud-native deployment pipelines and operational efficiency.
- Lead client support operations by ensuring SLA adherence, managing critical production incidents, and driving root cause analysis for recurring issues.
- Establish operational processes, knowledge management practices, and support frameworks that improve customer experience and platform reliability.
- Monitor engineering and operational KPIs, identify improvement opportunities, and implement initiatives that enhance productivity, quality, and system performance.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align engineering priorities with business objectives while driving innovation and continuous process improvement.
- Build a strong engineering culture through talent development, performance management, succession planning, and technical leadership.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering with significant experience leading engineering teams and enterprise technology delivery.
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, microservices architecture, REST APIs, and distributed systems.
- Proven experience leading large engineering organizations while managing multiple projects and cross-functional teams.
- Hands-on experience with release management, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, containerized deployments, and cloud-native application architecture.
- Experience managing client-facing support operations, production environments, and SLA-driven service delivery.
- Excellent knowledge of engineering governance, software quality assurance, performance optimization, and operational excellence.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and decision-making skills with the ability to influence technical and business teams.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies, Jira, Confluence, ITIL, or service management frameworks is an advantage.
- Exposure to emerging technologies such as LLMs, AI-driven platforms, or Agentic Engineering is a plus.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, with a passion for building scalable engineering organizations and delivering world-class enterprise solutions.
