About the Job

As an Associate Technical Account Manager (TAM), you will learn and become proficient in both product understanding and customer engagement techniques under the guidance of experienced mentors.

This is a development-focused role where you will shadow seasoned TAMs to build the technical and soft skills required to drive successful engagements, ultimately culminating in owning your first Red Hat customer account(s).

You will focus on effectively and consistently executing against primary job requirements , while collaborating closely with your team and receiving structured supervision to support your career growth.

What you will do:

  • Customer Engagement & Experience: Interact with customers in a professional manner to help drive success. Handle simple customer situations with ease, delivering results based on what customers are asking for and keeping them informed of critical information.

  • Technical Growth: Develop your technical understanding, product-level depth, and proficiency within your assigned product area. Work towards obtaining introductory-level Red Hat Certifications (e.g., RHCE, OpenShift, Ansible, Cloud Native App Dev).

  • Problem Solving & Critical Thinking: Handle simple customer issues focusing on problems with a predefined or limited scope. Follow documented practices and procedures when analyzing data or handling technical situations.

  • Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing: Actively listen, ask questions during mentoring or team discussions , and understand the collaborative nature and open-source principles Red Hat operates under.

  • Content & Documentation: Explore the development of new technical content and work towards achieving Knowledge-Centered Support (KCS-2) proficiency.

What you will bring:

  • Basic knowledge or a strong interest in foundational technologies relevant to Red Hat’s portfolio (e.g., Linux/RHEL, OpenShift, Cloud-Native apps, Automation/Ansible).

  • Awareness of common third-party software/ISV products and how they encounter Red Hat environments.

  • Ability to follow technical documentation, standard workflows, and troubleshooting procedures.

  • Continuous Learning: High learning agility with a strong focus on foundational learning paths, process adoption, and soft skills refinement (such as presentation and communication skills).

  • Communication: Excellent active listening skills and the ability to articulate customer needs internally.

  • Accountability: High level of responsibility for your own work and a commitment to timely delivery of assigned tasks.

  • Coachability: Being highly receptive to mentoring, constructive feedback, and guidance from peers and leaders.
