Job Description:

Responsibilities 

• Analyse and evaluate design compliance with safety requirements and safety principles 

• Define technical and functional safety requirements for train control systems 

• Conduct safety analyses (i.e. PHA, SHA, IHA, OSHA, FTA, FMECA) to verify that the train control systems for both hardware and software are safe 

• Carry out safety review and analysis of Change Request (CR) related to the project 

• Assure that safety requirements are met by participating in hardware, software and field testing (as required) 

• Assist in the development and follow through to completion the Specific Application Safety Case (SASC) of our products 

Requirements 

• Degree in Electrical Engineering; Computer Science or equivalent 

• 1+ years experience in real-time safety critical systems and train control systems (i.e. CBTC system) 

• Knowledge of system requirements definition/design, safety and risk analysis 

• Knowledge of reliability and safety analysis techniques 

• Computer skills, MS Office; DOORS, FTA tools 

Good to have

• Experience with or exposure to safety/mission-critical systems design, and exposure to hazard, fault-tree and failure modes and effects analysis, statistical modeling and analysis of complex software/ hardware/human interface systems

• Knowledge with RAMS railway standards, such as EN50126, EN50128, EN50129, EN50716 Yellow Book
