About Solace

Healthcare in the U.S. is fundamentally broken. The system is so complex that 88% of U.S. adults do not have the health literacy necessary to navigate it without help. Solace cuts through the red tape of healthcare by pairing patients with expert advocates and giving them the tools to make better decisions—and get better outcomes.

We're a Series C startup, founded in 2022 and backed by Inspired Capital, Craft Ventures, Torch Capital, Menlo Ventures, Signalfire, and IVP. Our U.S. based team is lean, mission-driven, and growing quickly.

Solace isn't a place to coast. We're here to redefine healthcare—and that demands urgency, precision, and heart. If you're looking to stretch yourself, sharpen your edge, and do the best work of your life alongside a team that cares deeply, you're in the right place. We’re intense, and we like it that way.

About the Role

As an Associate Product Designer at Solace, you’ll help design the healthcare experience of the future alongside experienced product designers, product managers, engineers, and clinicians. This is a hands-on role for early-career designers who want to learn fast, build real products, and see their work shipped to users.

You’ll help distill complex healthcare workflows into clear, usable, and thoughtful experiences. You won’t be expected to have everything figured out—but you will be expected to bring curiosity, care, and a strong bias toward action.

This role is for the hungry, the ambitious, and the deeply curious. You’re energized by feedback, excited by complexity, and motivated by the idea that good design can make people’s lives meaningfully better.

This is an in person role for 2026 college graduates in our Redwood City office, 3 days a week.

What You’ll Do

  • Learn what great product design looks like by working closely with experienced designers every day

  • Help bring beauty and simplicity to complex healthcare experiences

  • Support the design of production-ready user flows, interfaces, and interactions across web and mobile

  • Rapidly explore ideas through sketches, wireframes, and prototypes

  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and clinicians to design thoughtful solutions

  • Participate in user research, usability testing, and design reviews

  • Incorporate feedback quickly and iterate toward better outcomes

  • Help uphold and contribute to Solace’s design system and standards

  • Sweat the details—because small decisions add up to meaningful experiences

What You Bring to the Table

  • Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to learn by doing

  • Strong curiosity for design, systems, and how people experience products

  • An intuitive sense for what makes consumer experiences feel clear, human, and delightful

  • A bias toward action—you’d rather make something and improve it than wait for perfect clarity

  • Care for craft and details, even when working fast

  • Solid communication skills and openness to feedback

  • Familiarity with modern design tools (especially Figma)

  • Bonus: Experience through internships, class projects, student teams, or side projects where you designed and shipped real work

  • An online portfolio showcasing your thinking, process, and design work

Applicants must be based in the United States.

We look forward to meeting you.
