Job description

The Inventory Control Analyst II serves as a key point of contact for inventory control activities within the manufacturing and warehouse/distribution environment. This role is responsible for analyzing inventory issues, identifying root causes, improving record accuracy, and developing solutions that support efficient material flow and operational performance. The position partners cross-functionally with factory and distribution teams to monitor inventory accuracy, support compliance with procedures, prepare reports, and help implement process improvements that align with department goals and objectives.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify, analyze, and determine root causes of inventory discrepancies; evaluate alternatives and recommend effective solutions.
  • Advise and support factory personnel on inventory-related issue resolution, operating procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and communication of inventory control policies and procedures; provide guidance and training to personnel as needed.
  • Develop project plans and coordinate cross-functional activities to support achievement of defined inventory control objectives.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy performance, gather and analyze data, and prepare reports to communicate trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Observe and report conditions or events that may impact current or future inventory control activities; recommend and communicate appropriate courses of action.
  • Take proactive steps to mitigate or resolve issues in alignment with department policies, goals, and objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. APICS, Six Sigma, Lean, or related certifications are preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of SAP experience required, including experience with physical material flow and related inventory transactions.

Preferred Skills and Abilities

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and maintain attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with exposure to inventory control practices preferred.
