A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:</em><br><br><strong><u>Associate Engineer:<br></u></strong>Equivalent to completion of a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field and three (3) years of progressively responsible professional engineering experience.<br><br>Possession of an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate is desirable.</undefined></div><br><undefined><strong><u>Senior Associate Engineer:</u></strong><br></undefined>Equivalent to completion of a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field and ten (10) years of progressively responsible professional engineering experience. Experience with engineering design and construction management is required. &nbsp;<p>Possession of an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate is desirable.</p><br><strong><u>Civil Engineer:</u></strong><div style="text-align: justify">Equivalent to completion of a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field and four (4) years of progressively responsible professional engineering experience.</div><br><div style="text-align: justify">Possession of a valid State of California Professional Engineer license is required.</div><br><strong><u>Senior Civil Engineer:</u></strong><div style="text-align: justify">Equivalent to completion of a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible professional engineering experience.</div><br><div style="text-align: justify">Possession of a valid State of California Professional Civil Engineer license is required.</div><p><strong><u>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</u></strong></p><p>Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in office and field environments; to walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, and lift moderate amounts of weight;&nbsp;to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to communicate verbally and in writing.</p><p><strong><u>WORK ENVIRONMENT</u></strong></p><p>Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting with some travel to different sites including construction sites; occasional exposure to outside weather or other hazardous conditions; work and/or walk on various types of surfaces including slippery or uneven surfaces and rough terrain; incumbents may be required to work extended hours including evenings and weekends and may be required to travel outside City boundaries to attend meetings.</p><p><strong>Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)</strong></p><p>The City of Camarillo is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an EEO employer.
