Job Description Summary
As an Associate in Personal Tax, you will assist employers and individuals, including expatriates and cross-border workers with their employment and personal tax obligations in Luxembourg. You will work closely with senior consultants and managers to provide tailored advice, assist with tax returns, and ensure compliance with Luxembourg tax laws. You will support clients with optimization of remuneration structuring and implementation of beneficial regimes while ensuring compliance and clarity. As you evolve into a subject matter expert, you will work closely with clients - providing advice, training and being a key point of contact for any individual or employment tax queries.
Our team provides employment tax and social security consulting and compliance services, immigration and expatriate payroll services to a wide range of clients across all industries. You will have an opportunity to learn and collaborate with all members of the team within your role.
Key responsibilities
Provide expert advice to tax, payroll, finance, and HR teams of external companies on the tax and social security implications of employee employment.
Guide HR, payroll, finance, and tax teams of external companies regarding employer reporting and withholding obligations.
Advise clients on the tax and social security treatment of employer-provided compensation or benefits.
Offer compliance and planning advice to employers on delivering employee compensation and benefits.
Support clients with "health checks" or pre-audit reviews for compliance with tax and social security legislation and assist with post-audit remediation projects.
Handle the preparation of tax returns or equivalent agreements, including associated data analysis.
Keep abreast of evolving tax laws and regulations and update clients as necessary.
Proactively manage client accounts by anticipating needs, identifying opportunities for growth and maintaining regular communication to ensure client satisfaction and retention
As you advance in your role, you will:
Build and nurture strong client relationships to foster long-term partnerships and drive business growth
Develop and implement comprehensive employment tax strategies and plans in line with organizational objectives to minimize tax exposures and liabilities.
Collaborate with senior leadership to weave tax planning into the broader business strategy.
Who you are?
You will have a master’s degree in economics, or law, with a specialization in taxation
You have a strong interest in individual taxation and compliance, and you would like to work on individual tax consulting to individuals and employing companies.
You enjoy working in teams and look for an open-minded and friendly environment.
You have an excellent command of Microsoft Office Excel and Google Suite.
You are fluent in both our working languages French and English. Knowledge of German will be considered an asset.
You have an appetite for numbers and for contact with people from all over the globe.
Accuracy, a critical mind-set and good writing skills are embedded in your DNA as well as a practical and hands-on attitude.
You have a drive and dynamism that contributes to the team spirit.
