We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as Associate Director
In this role you will:
- Originate, execute and support event driven/flow corporate, structured and/or capital markets (CMA) related transactions for CMB clients.
- Engage with CMB RMs to provide on-going coverage to CMB clients that are having continuous demand for structured financing and/or capital markets solutions.
- Driving deal team in the delivery of the Bank’s origination, arranging, underwriting, structuring and execution of loan products. Working with other stakeholders to deliver financing and/or capital market solutions for CMB clients.
- Originating “new” and “new new” money transactions for CMB, financing different types of Financial Sponsor transactions. Leading transactional deal team (s) in the execution of transactions relevant, in liaison with the Relationship Manager.
- Provide complex finance structuring, financial modeling and financial analysis expertise for Corporate and Structured Finance transactions.
- Ensure robust credit structures are in place during deal origination, identifying and mitigating key risks that will secure and protect the Bank while meeting customers’ needs. Provide high quality industry / sector, competitor and client level analysis to support business development, credit risk assessment and portfolio management.
- Review and working with Panel lawyers to negotiate legal documentation including commitments papers, credit agreements and security documentation.
- Work collectively with product partners, in driving close collaboration to pitch for business opportunities from CMB client base.
- Drive the identification and development of new ideas, products and solutions to meet client needs. Work with the CMB RM teams to identify and cross sell opportunities.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable operational risk standards and policies, reporting any breaches in accordance with local procedures
To be successful you will need:
- Demonstrable corporate and/or investment banking experience, with demonstrated experience in commercial lending and structured and leveraged finance.
- Demonstrated track record in originating and executing structured lending transactions, with proven experience in complex credit propositions and complex legal documentation
- Good knowledge of bank products and services including Capital Markets & Advisory investment banking products.
- Advanced understanding of risk management and risk mitigation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders/clients.
- Strong time management, organizational, planning skills, with ability to manage the competing priorities of deal flows, credit quality and the requirement to drive income.
- Strong range of communication and negotiation skills, including written and verbal, and the ability to deliver compelling presentations and outcomes, with the ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders at a senior and strategic level.
- Excellent level of business acumen and commercial awareness, including economic, cultural, procedural and regulatory issues.
- Fluency in English is required, proficiency in Cantonese and Putonghua is preferred.
