A career within Actuarial Services, will provide you with the opportunity to contribute general insurance advice and consulting services to clients such as insurers, banks, regulators, and third party administrators. You’ll provide advice covering solvency, economic capital, risk management, mergers and acquisitions, company restructuring and risk control, financial modelling, underwriting, new legislation, and the efficiency of claims or reporting processes. Simply put, you might help analyse the impact that new regulation will have on an insurance company’s balance sheet or you could be revising businesses’ projections and making sure they have adequate reserves.In actuarial services at PwC, you will be responsible for analysing and managing financial risks for clients through statistical modelling and data analysis. Your work will generate valuable insights and recommendations to help businesses make informed decisions and mitigate potential risks.
The successful candidate will have an important role to support our life, non-life,
and other clients in a variety of ways which includes the following but are not
limited to:
- Working for PwC Malaysia and other South East Asia countries.
- Opportunities to work alongside senior actuaries and staff at other offices serving clients ranging from multi-international insurers and reinsurers to new start-ups.
- Work will involve all aspects of life insurance, including pricing, reserving, risk and capital management, M&A, modelling and other types of consulting projects.
Requirements
- Degree in Actuarial studies
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Possess good leadership skills and demonstrate resilience
- Able to demonstrate analytical thinking and business acumen
- An additional knowledge of either of the following would be
preferred:
o Data Analytics – Python, SQL
o Visualization Tools (Tableau, PowerBI, QuickSight)
o VBA programming
