Job description

Rate: $15/hr - $20/hr + lessons commissions

Druid Hills Golf Club is looking for an exceptional seasonal Swim Coach to be a part of our award-winning swim team, the Druid Hills Dolphins! Druid Hills Golf Club is one of the most prestigious private clubs in Atlanta, and we are looking for a qualified team member who will provide high levels of service to our members and their children.

Responsibilities:

  • Energetically and enthusiastically interact with all members and their children.
  • Lead and motivate swim team members while exercising mature judgment and sound decision-making.
  • Apply knowledge of sound competitive swimming skills to implement and teach these skills in a positive, healthy manner.
  • Perform assigned coaching responsibilities, which may include practices, recruiting, record-keeping, and scheduling.
  • Attend all staff meetings and trainings as required.
  • Oversee the conduct of swim team members at meets and other team functions.
  • Attend swim meets and swim team functions as agreed upon with the supervisor.
  • Maintain effective communication with participants and their parents.
  • Follow all DHGC policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency procedures, to ensure a safe environment.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per company standards.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of competitive swimming rules and regulations.
  • Strong aquatic background including knowledge in lifeguarding, instructing, and training.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to attend all practices, swim meets, and functions for the duration of the season (approx. May 1 – August 1).
  • Must be able to speak, read, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.

Education and Experience:

  • Current CPR and First-Aid certification required.
  • Swim Instruction certification is encouraged, but not required.
  • Previous experience in competitive swimming or coaching preferred.
