Apply to this jobTeaching responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate neuroscience courses at all levels, with an opportunity to develop neuroscience, interdisciplinary, honors, and general education courses for non-science majors. The successful candidate will also be expected to develop and maintain an active research program involving undergraduate students, collaborate with faculty on curriculum and program development, and contribute to the Department and wider University through service responsibilities.
The neuroscience program at High Point University has a focus on hands-on learning and mentorship, with each lecture class having a lab component that teaches students real-world research skills including cell culturing, gel electrophoresis, and rodent research. The program seeks a dynamic individual who will embrace these values and is passionate about mentoring undergraduates.
Successful applicants will have access to startup and institutional research and professional development funding, and laboratory and office space in the Wanek School of Natural Sciences. A Ph.D. in neuroscience or closely related field is required; postdoctoral or recent teaching experience is preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Biopsychology, or a related field
Experience and Training:
Experience in conducting Neuroscience research that meaningfully involves undergraduate students
Experience or promise in teaching Neuroscience courses
