Job description

In line with our business expansion, we would like to invite qualified and candidates to fill the following position at Yapidmas Plantation

Job Description

  • To manage, plan, and monitor the overall operations of the workshop and road team to ensure efficiency, quality workmanship and minimal downtime.

  • Ensure supplies, spare parts and materials are ordered according to job requirements and liaise with the Head of Operations and Estate Managers before proceeding with any purchase orders.

  • Act as a technical advisor for key projects and provide expertise on machinery, equipment and road works when required.

  • Develop and implement an effective record-keeping and filing system for daily workshop and road team operations including job orders, service reports and maintenance logs.

  • Identify training needs among workshop and road team staff and provide opportunities for continuous skills improvement. Guide apprentices and semi-skilled workers to role-model proper technical practices.

  • Receive and review feedback from estates, ensuring all complaints related to repairs, breakdowns, and services are investigated promptly. Recommend corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurring issues.

  • Prepare and submit monthly operational reports to the Head of Operations.

  • Promote a strong health and safety culture and ensure all operations comply with company SOPs and legislative requirements.

  • Ensure MSPO/RSPO requirements are implemented and adhered to in workshop and road maintenance operations.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field.

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in workshop management, preferably in an oil palm plantation environment.

  • Solid knowledge of heavy machinery maintenance (tractors, excavators, bulldozers, loaders, etc.).

  • Experience supervising road construction or road maintenance operations is an added advantage.

  • Ability to work independently.
