Job Description:

Roles & Responsibilities

Business Development

• Lead and manage project team to assess business investment opportunities (including business review, project expansion, turnaround opportunities), in relation to SDGI’s Strategy Blueprint and investment themes.
• Support Heads in discussions with prospective partners for SDGI including background analyses, investment theses, due diligence, valuation, synergy assessments, etc. 
• Support deal origination process for SDGI, including conducting desktop analyses and working with external parties (e.g. investment banks, strategy consultants, or industrial players) to generate or evaluate potential leads.
• Prepare investment papers for board and management.

Strategic Planning 

• Support the development of SDGI’s business strategies and long-term plans e.g., SDGI’s Strategy Blueprint, by managing and working with team to conduct market research and financial analyses.
• Lead junior team members in evaluating or reviewing strategies and transformation initiatives for SDGI proposed by its Business Units or JV partners.
• Lead and/or manage the tracking of approved investment projects to ensure completion within timeline and budget, and ensure targeted synergies are achieved.

Others 

• Provide support to the Head, Strategy and Business Development, Head, Global Strategy and Transformation, and CEO, SDGI in corporate assignments.  

Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business/ Finance / Economics / Engineering
• MBA or CFA Charter holders would be at an advantage
• At least 5 years’ experience in Strategy, Business Development or Corporate Finance roles, preferably in Management Consulting, External Advisory or Internal Consulting roles.  
• Experience in the Agribusiness sector is an advantage.
