Responsible for assisting the Clinical Nurse Manager in the operational effectiveness, efficiency, and day-to-day management of the assigned patient care area. Demonstrates awareness of internal and external factors impacting patient care delivery, staffing, quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, and resource utilization. Promotes a culture of patient-centered care, teamwork, accountability, professional practice, and continuous improvement. Collaborates closely with the Clinical Nurse Manager to ensure delivery of safe, high-quality, evidence-based nursing care while supporting organizational goals and nursing standards.
Assists with staff scheduling, daily operations, patient flow, staffing assignments, quality monitoring, employee engagement, orientation, competency validation, performance improvement initiatives, and patient experience activities. Serves as a clinical resource and mentor to nursing staff, fostering professional growth, accountability, and excellence in nursing practice. Provides leadership in the absence of the Clinical Nurse Manager and participates in departmental and organizational committees, shared governance, and strategic initiatives.
Supports recruitment, retention, onboarding, and development of nursing personnel while promoting a healthy work environment built upon respect, collaboration, diversity, equity, inclusion, and compassionate patient care. Demonstrates commitment to evidence-based practice through participation in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety activities, regulatory readiness, and professional development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing or health related field required.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
Required - 4-6 years Minimum of five (5) years nursing experience, preferably in an acute care setting with at least three (1) years in a supervisory or leadership capacity preferred including charge nurse. Demonstrates sound, clinical skills, understanding of acute care standards of practice, and positive communications skills. Demonstrated participation on councils and committees. Required
- Knowledge and experience documenting patient care in an electronic medical record.
Strong critical thinking and evidence-based clinical decision-making skills
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
Ability to make knowledgeable clinical assessments and judgments based on evidence-based guidelines
Ability to educate and develop staff
Ability to provide counseling and emotional support with compassion and respect for the individual
Ability to provide support and guidance to the members of the care team (teamwork)
Ability to foster teamwork, accountability, and employee engagement.

Current BLS by American Heart Association and ACLS required. Required
