Job description

The Asset Manager is responsible for ensuring maximum performance of their assigned NPLs Wholesale portfolio by providing appropriate and personalized solutions.

Main Accountabilities

  • Reviews cases (including financial statements analysis, business plan analysis, collateral analysis etc.) and formulate restructuring strategies in line with the portfolio owner business plan -or NPE plan, in the case of banking portfolios, policy and overall strategy
  • Coordinates, proposes and follows up  legal actions for the efficient management of non-performing exposures in cooperation with Competent Units of the Company and external partners.
  • Communicates with debtors to assess their willingness to pay and business plans to evaluate financial standing
  • Cooperates with other creditors and/or stakeholders for reaching a common restructuring solution to be proposed to the debtors (especially in syndicated transactions)
  • Negotiates the preferable solution with the debtor and other creditors, if applicable, and assess any counterproposal proposed by them
  • Reviews debtors’ requests as well as proposals that concern the restructuring of their debt
  • Participates in and presents the proposal before the Asset Owner's Committees regarding the aforementioned solutions
  • Monitor debtors’ compliance to restructuring solutions, debtors’ compliance with contractual terms, revaluation of collaterals, etc.
  • Monitors of the overall progress of the cases and cooperates with all involved parties (asset owner, external and internal lawyers, consulting firms, REO team, Middle and Back office etc.) for the implementation of the decisions/ approvals, according to the Asset Owner.
  • Cooperates with the asset owner in order to provide any necessary information, including data related to the individual impairment assessment and write-offs, where applicable
  • Holds and updates with all necessary documents the debtors’ file and provision of file information within New Cepal for any legal purpose

Requirements

Education, Experience and Technical Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Banking or any other Business-related studies
  • Master’s degree and/or other professional qualifications relevant to that position will be considered as an asset
  • Minimum 4 years of professional experience in Banking or Financial services, preferably in denounced or restructured wholesale portfolios
  • Knowledge of the new legal framework and tools; previous involvement in all steps of legal actions will be considered as an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Greek
  • Computer literacy, familiarity with MS Office applications
