Job Description

Senior Backend Developer / Node.js Developer

Experience - 5+ Years

Location- Pune – Baner (Onsite/Hybrid as per company policy)

Position Summary

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer (Node.js) to join our engineering team and play a key role in building scalable, high-performance backend systems. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Node.js, microservices architecture, AWS, message queues (Kafka or SQS), and monitoring tools like Datadog or Splunk.

This role requires deep backend ownership, strong system design skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js

• Build and manage microservices-based architectures

• Develop highly available and fault-tolerant systems on AWS

• Implement asynchronous processing using Kafka or AWS SQS

• Ensure high performance, security, and reliability of backend services

• Integrate monitoring, logging, and alerting using Datadog and/or Splunk

• Collaborate closely with frontend, DevOps, QA, and product teams

• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and performance optimization

• Troubleshoot production issues and ensure quick resolution

• Contribute to backend best practices, coding standards, and system improvements

Mandatory Skills (Must-Have)

Each of the below skills is mandatory and must be present in the candidate’s resume

• Node.js (Backend development experience)

• Microservices architecture

• AWS (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, etc.)

• Kafka or AWS SQS (event-driven / messaging systems)

• Datadog and/or Splunk (monitoring, logging, observability)

Additional Requirements

• Strong understanding of REST APIs and backend integrations

• Experience working with databases (SQL/NoSQL)

• Knowledge of cloud-native and distributed systems

• Experience handling production-scale applications

• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Nice to Have

• Experience with Docker / Kubernetes

• CI/CD pipeline exposure

• System design and architecture experience

• Prior experience in high-traffic or startup environments
