Art Teacher (All Grades)

Community Christian Academy seeks to hire qualified individuals to fulfill the school’s vision of offering a safe, Christ-centered, academically challenging education, preparing students to become Kingdom Leaders.  For all positions,  our goal is to hire qualified, certified, and degreed teachers. Certifications through the state of Georgia or ACSI may be received after hire. Description 

Employee would be responsible for teaching a classroom with 10-20 students at a time, grades K3-5 as well as middle and high school classes.  Teacher would introduce art concepts, history, and project opportunities to students in elementary and secondary schools in various disciplines of art, to include painting, drawing, sculpting, digital art, etc. The teacher would integrate Biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum and use valid teaching techniques to achieve curriculum goals and promote student learning.  The teacher should be passionate about teaching and helping students grow academically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Requirements:  

  • Bachelor's degree in art or related field.  
  • Preferred experience working with children in a school setting. 
  • State or ACSI certification or eligibility to obtain certification (can be obtained after hire). 
  • Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
  • Be a born-again Christian who is exemplary in his/her Christian walk.

Expectations: 

  • Above all, the teacher would be expected to set an example of the importance of prayer, Bible study, witnessing, and unity in Christian fellowship as well as a model of a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ in speech, actions, and attitudes.
  • Plan a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students, challenging each to do his or her best work. 
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and co-workers. 
  • Adapt lessons and curriculum to accommodate students of different academic and learning needs. 
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide the best education possible for our students. 
  • Prepare and submit weekly lesson plans for the administrator’s review.
  • Assess the learning of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
  • Cooperate with the administration in implementing all policies, procedures, and directives governing the operation of the school.
  • Accept a share of responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the fine arts program at Community Christian Academy, specifically those of visual and media arts. 
  • Contribute to the general improvement of the school program.
