Application Specialist (Non Food)

In this role, you will provide technical application support to customers across the EMEA region through both remote collaboration and on-site engagements, helping them optimize product performance and identify innovative solutions. Working closely with cross-functional teams including Application, R&D, Sales, Marketing, Regulatory, and Production, you will contribute to the development and delivery of customer-focused solutions that align with business objectives and market needs.

Where You'll Make a Difference 

• Provide technical application support to customers across EMEA through both remote and on-site engagements. 

• Collaborate closely with colleagues across Application, R&D, Sales, Marketing, Regulatory, and Production teams to deliver innovative customer solutions. 

• Design, execute, evaluate, and document application trials, development projects, and customer demonstrations. 

• Serve as a technical expert in hydrocolloids, emulsifiers, and functional ingredient systems used in Non Food applications. 

• Develop new application concepts aligned with market trends, strategic priorities, and product innovations. 

• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and supporting documentation for customers and internal stakeholders. 

• Deliver technical training and knowledge-sharing sessions to customers and colleagues. 

• Support research, development, innovation, and patent-related activities. 

• Build strong long-term relationships with customers while contributing to best-practice development across IFF's global network. 

What Makes You the Right Fit 

• M.Sc. degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Cosmetic Science, Food Science, or a related scientific discipline. 

• 5–10 years of relevant industry experience within Non Food applications. 

• Experience within Personal Care and/or Candle application development is strongly preferred. 

• Strong knowledge of hydrocolloids, emulsifiers, and functional ingredient systems. 

• Solid understanding of formulation science, product functionality, and application development principles. 

• Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes, pilot-scale trials, analytical techniques, and product development. 

• Ability to translate technical expertise into practical customer-focused solutions. 

• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. 

• Professional proficiency in English and willingness to travel internationally approximately 30–50 days per year.
