Job description

Zurich Instruments is a leader in advanced test and measurement instruments and control electronics for quantum computing. Our solutions support scientists and high-tech companies worldwide in pioneering research and developing next-generation quantum computers.

For this position, you will be employed by our parent company, Rohde & Schwarz Japan, giving you the stability and reach of a global technology leader, while working closely with the Zurich Instruments team and customers.

Quantum computing is transitioning from research to reality, and Japan is one of its most exciting markets. Do you want to work at the forefront of this development, applying your technical expertise to support world-class researchers and help shape the future of quantum technologies? Then this role is for you.

Your responsibilities

  • Provide deep technical guidance to help researchers and engineers get the most out of their Zurich Instruments systems, from first evaluation through to running their experiments
  • Deliver hands-on, application-specific support, including on-site system integration
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with the scientists and engineers you support, accompanying them throughout their projects
  • Present at conferences and trade shows, and visit research groups across Japan
  • Create technical content such as presentations, product documentation, and tutorial videos
  • Work closely with our global team to shape Zurich Instruments' technical approach in Japan

Your profile

  • A PhD or Master's in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science, backed by a strong experimental research record
  • Solid hands-on lab experience, ideally including RF/microwave signal generation and measurement
  • Programming experience with scientific instrumentation, preferably in Python
  • A genuine interest in working at the interface of science and industry, and the confidence to engage directly with researchers, even if you haven't held a customer-facing role before
  • Curiosity and a real willingness to learn: no prior quantum experience needed, as we'll train you
  • Very good communication skills in English; Japanese is a plus
Join a diverse, open, and transparent work environment that values personal development. Thrive in a cooperative team, where distributed decision-making enables you to make a substantial impact from the start.

Now is an exciting time to join the team.

We look forward to receiving your resume and motivation letter.
