About the role

We are seeking an Application Developer to join Maurice Blackburn on a 6-month contract. In this role, you'll play an important part in designing, building and supporting applications that help our people deliver exceptional outcomes for clients. Working within our Digital & Technology team, you'll collaborate with a range of stakeholders to develop high-quality software solutions, enhance existing applications and contribute to the ongoing evolution of our technology landscape.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Design, develop, test and deploy software solutions that meet business requirements and development standards. 
  • Analyse technical and business requirements to deliver effective, scalable and maintainable solutions. 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to understand needs and provide expert technical input. 
  • Support and maintain existing applications, proactively identifying and resolving issues. 
  • Monitor application performance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation to support ongoing development and application support. 
  • Participate in code reviews, testing activities and deployment processes. 
  • Identify opportunities to improve applications, processes and development practices. 
  • Contribute innovative thinking and problem-solving skills to complex development challenges. 

What you'll bring 

  • Proven experience developing applications using C#, .NET/.NET Core and modern software development practices. 
  • Experience working with Microsoft Azure services, including App Services, Azure Functions, Application Insights and Microsoft Entra ID. 
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server, database design and data integration principles. 
  • Experience developing modern web applications using technologies such as Blazor, Bootstrap and Syncfusion. 
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs, integrations, OAuth, JWT and authentication frameworks. 
  • Experience using GitHub, pull requests, code reviews and CI/CD pipelines. 
  • Knowledge of testing and quality practices, including unit testing and Test-Driven Development (TDD). 
  • Understanding of modern software architecture principles, including Domain-Driven Design (DDD), secure coding practices and software design patterns. 
  • Familiarity with development tools such as Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Postman and other contemporary development environments. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills, a collaborative mindset and a passion for building high-quality solutions that deliver real business value.
