Application Consultant: Azure Cloud Migration

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Linux Administrator to manage and maintain our Linux-based systems and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, and supporting Linux operating systems, as well as ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our systems. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment.

• System Administration:

  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and workstations.
  • Perform system monitoring, analyze logs, and respond to system alerts.
  • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.

• Security Management:

  • Implement and maintain security policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Monitor system security and respond to security incidents.
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

• Performance Tuning and Optimization:

  • Monitor system performance and resource usage.
  • Optimize system performance and troubleshoot performance issues.
  • Manage system load and capacity planning.

• Backup and Recovery:

  • Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies.
  • Ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Conduct regular backups and test recovery procedures.

• Automation and Scripting:

  • Develop and maintain scripts to automate system administration tasks.
  • Utilize configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.

• Networking and Connectivity:

  • Configure and maintain network services such as DNS, DHCP, and NFS.
  • Troubleshoot network issues and coordinate with network administrators.

• Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain system documentation and operational procedures.
  • Provide regular reports on system performance, security, and availability.

• Proven experience as a Linux Administrator, System Administrator, or similar role.
• Experience with Linux server management (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu).

• Proficiency in Linux operating systems and command-line tools

• Knowledge of shell scripting and automation tools (e.g., Bash, Python, Perl).

• Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).

• Understanding of networking concepts and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).

• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM).

Relevant certifications such as RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator), RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer), or LPIC (Linux Professional Institute Certification) are a plus.
