Animal Care Technicians play a vital role in supporting laboratory operations through technical maintenance and observational work.</strong></p><div style="margin: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">No experience or training required.</span></div><div style="margin: 0">The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found <a href="https://apps01.civilservice.louisiana.gov/onestopjobinfo/DisplayJobSpec.aspx?JobCode=117130" target="_blank"><u>here</u></a>.</div><br><p style="margin: 0 0 8pt"><u>Job Duties:</u></p><ul style="padding-left: 2rem; margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Assist with the preparation, calibration, and operation of laboratory instruments and equipment</li><li>Conduct tests, record data, and compile reports in accordance with established lab procedures</li><li>Prepare and handle chemical, biological, or physical samples and reagents</li><li>Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of lab instruments and facilities</li><li>Observe and document results, maintaining accurate records for experiments and procedures</li><li>Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and procedural standards</li><li>Support research and instructional staff during experiments and laboratory classes</li><li>Monitor equipment and materials inventory and submit orders as needed</li><li>Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and escalate more complex problems appropriately</li></ul><br><u>Position-Specific Details:</u><br><strong>Appointment Type: </strong>Probational<br><strong>Work Location: </strong>This position is located at the New Iberia Research Center. 4401 W.
