CSD is comprised of three core service program areas - BeautifySJ, Grantmaking for Community Impact, and Youth Intervention Services. Overseen by a Deputy Director and two Division Managers, there are 148full-time equivalent employees and an operating budget of approximately $49 million along with various sources including State, Federal and other special funds. Currently, the Department is recruiting for one Analyst for the Grantmaking for Community Impact Program. The Grantmaking for Community Impact (GCI) Team within the City of San José's Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services Department (PRNS) strategically invests public resources to improve the health, safety, and well-being of San José residents. The team manages the full lifecycle of competitive grant programs—from program design and funding strategy to procurement, contract management, performance monitoring, evaluation, and continuous improvement.</p><p>The GCI Team oversees millions of dollars in annual grant funding that supports nonprofit organizations, neighborhood groups, schools, and community partners delivering services in youth violence prevention and intervention, neighborhood revitalization, older adult wellness, and other community priorities. The team ensures that public investments are transparent, equitable, data-informed, and aligned with City Council priorities and community needs.</p><p>Salary ranges for the Analyst I/II classifications are:</p><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li><strong>Analyst I</strong>: $92,994.72-$113,022.00</li><li><strong>Analyst II</strong>: $101,468.64 - $123,330.48</li></ul><p>All salary ranges include an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation.
