Job description

OVERVIEW


Our industry-leading team is growing and seeking an enthusiastic technical specialist to support our Evidence Synthesis practice and Centre of Excellence (CoE). The role involves primarily the development of off-the-shelf coding scripts, efficiency and automation tools for the CoE and contribution in highly complex statistical projects that require de novo conceptualisation and out-of-the-box thinking. You can expect a blend of statistical/ technical activities, strategic problem-solving for complex research tasks, coding/programming, enhancing existing and developing new capabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Support the development of internal tools and software to drive automation efficiency and methods development in evidence synthesis for HTA. Develop technical guidance for associated tools

  • Edit, review, and develop scripts to ensure accurate and efficient implementation tailored to specific research problems. Proficiency and demonstrable coding/programming experience in R is required, and knowledge of Stan is desirable as well as WinBUGS, OpenBUGS, JAGS.

  • Establish research credentials and further the wider IQVIA profile in evidence synthesis through the development of innovative methods and the dissemination of research outputs in peer-reviewed journals and scientific conferences 

  • Be an active member of the Centre of Excellence for Evidence Synthesis and develop core material to increase automation and efficiency across IQVIA

  • For a small proportion of time, support project implementation primarily on complex projects that require de novo material development and out-of-the-box thinking

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, TECHNICAL AND PERSONAL SKILLS

  • Masters (required) or PhD (plus) in statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, health economics or a related discipline.

  • Fluency in English (spoken and written - this role is part of a global team)

  • Relevant experience working as a statistician or evidence synthesis specialist in academia or consultancy, CRO, pharmaceutical/biotech or academia (as post-graduate researcher)

  • Strong programming skills in R, ability to provide evidence of this applied in a business or academic setting

  • Experience in software development ideally on RShiny applications. Excitements and willingness to improve and software development skills  

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including in the context of client strategic challenges

  • Excellent scientific writing skills, oral communication, ability to convey technically complex issues to non-technical audiences and teams, attention to detail

  • Efficient time- and project-management, proactive communication, team spirit

  • Good understanding of related HEOR domains and Evidence Synthesis processes
