Linguists shall be prepared and qualified to provide translation or transcription services to include the translation of written, electronic and multi-media material to and from English and a Target Language.  Materials include, but are not limited to: business, legal, medical, technical, documents, software, website localization for Internet and intranet, video subtitling and captioning. Services also include, but are not limited to, formatting, proofreading, editing, graphic design, and desktop publishing.

 Linguists may be requested to perform interpretation services (i.e., the interpretation of oral communication to and from English and a Target Language), if qualified. Interpretation includes, but is not limited to, consecutive, escort, telephonic, and voiceovers.  Interpreter forums may include meetings, conferences, seminars, briefings, training, military operations, law enforcement, intelligence and operational support. Additionally, linguists supporting ow-density Target Languages may be asked to process workflow functions, such as performing Quality Assurance (QA), when not utilized for translation purposes.

SALARY: 90K-100K FOR A 1 YEAR CONTRACT

Read, Listen, and Speak coherently in one of the following Target Languages and English at minimum level 3:

o    Pashto/Dari


•    Interpretation and Translation from Target language to English may be required
•    Maintain the integrity and meaning of the material through translations;
•    Translate general and technical material to and from a Target Language and English;
•    Possess a thorough understanding of Intelligence Community transliteration guidelines and directives;
•    Quickly scan and accurately translate a large amount of material;
•    Provide quality translations in the time allotted;
•    Read a variety of unfamiliar subjects, relate ideas and make inferences, and accurately interpret the intent of the writer;
•    Converse professionally in formal and informal situations, resolve problems, work with unfamiliar topics, provide explanations, offer supported opinions and hypothesize;
•    Familiarity with Computer Assisted Translation Tools, such as Translation Memory, Terminology Management Databases, and/or on-line dictionaries.
•    Must hold at least an Active Secret Clearance
•    5-7 Years of Linguistic Experience
•    Computer skills (office, web browsing, email, chat, skype, facebook, etc)
•    CI/HUMINT experience
•    Experience in translation and analysis of open source cyberspace materials
•    Experience living abroad a plus
•    Standard analyst experience / training a plus
•    US CITIZEN
