Serving as the administrative backbone of the office, this position helps ensure programs, records, and operational processes are managed efficiently and accurately.</li><li>Duties may include maintaining records and reports, preparing correspondence, processing departmental documents, coordinating schedules, tracking inventories or program activities, assisting with data entry, answering inquiries, and providing administrative support to supervisors and staff. The position also ensures departmental procedures are followed while maintaining the confidentiality and accuracy of official records.</li><li>Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential to success in this role. Receives requests for production of documents for Medical lawsuits, conducts research and/or investigations regarding these requests and prepares responses to the requests.</li><li>Maintains a tracking system involving all aspects of lawsuits.</li><li>Provides supervisor with recommendation and justifications for equipment, supplies, positions and services for yearly budget requests/projections. </li><li>Serves as assistant to a manager, which could include keeping appointment schedule, preparing travel, issuing directives to others on their behalf, and relieving the manager of administrative matters.</li></ul><u><strong>WORK ENVIRONMENT:</strong></u><ul><li>Employee will work with adult male inmates of all custody levels – minimum, medium, maximum (death row) and protective custody. </li></ul><br><p><u>Position-Specific Details</u>: </p><p><strong>Appointment Type: </strong>PROBATION, or PROMOTION OF A PERMANENT, CLASSIFIED LOUISIANA STATE EMPLOYEE<strong> </strong></p><ul type="disc" style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted. </li><li>An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted. </li><li>This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment.
