DNCHC Del Norte Community Health CenterThe Administrative Assistant I (AAI) Provides administrative and clerical support to a site or department. Focuses on routine tasks and baseline operational support.

All new hires will begin at the base wage of this position.

Hmong and Spanish speakers who successfully pass a language exam will receive an additional .75 hourly differential to their wage.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Schedules and organizes meetings and events
  • Maintains paper and digital filing systems
  • Answers phones and routes messages
  • Manages office supplies and equipment
  • Maintains shared spaces (copy rooms, breakrooms, etc.)
  • Supports data entry, form preparation, and basic internal communication
  • Performs specialized duties, projects and other duties as identified and assigned by supervisor.  

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPECTATIONS:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish constructive professional working relationships among a diverse workforce.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and independently as needed.
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects with different deadlines.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Strong computer skills with specific aptitude in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
  • Ability to effectively represent ODCHC’s interests publicly and maintain effective working relationships among co-workers, public, private, and professional groups.
  • Adheres to ODCHC’s attendance policy
  • Adheres to ODCHC’s policies and procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

SUPERVISION AND SUPPORT: The Administrative Assistant reports directly to the Administrative Director when health center based, and a designated Department Director when located within a specific department or administrative facility.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This is largely an office-based position. The physical requirements described are representative of those needed to successfully perform the essential duties of the position.   • Ability to communicate via telephone, video, and/or in-person.
  • Ability to read documents, computer screens, forms.
  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.

  • Ability to move around offices and clinics as needed.
