Adjunct, Nursing Program

The Department of Nursing is now accepting applications for part-time adjunct faculty for the B.S. in Nursing, clinical program.

 

Candidates with a BSN may be considered based on the content area/program need.

 

Preferred candidates will possess teaching experience in nursing, expertise in informatics, nursing leadership and healthcare administration will also be considered.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

     Teach 1-2 courses per semester in an in-person format.

     Provide instruction at a baccalaureate level for undergraduate nursing students in one of the areas of specialty (MS, peds, women’s health, mental health, community, geriatrics) in the classroom or skills lab.

     Provide feedback to students via online learning activities and assessment of assignments submitted through the Learning Management System (i.e., Canvas).

     Demonstrate excellent communication, accountability, and initiative, along with a strong Christian commitment and interest in the integration of faith with learning.

     Provide academic advising and mentoring for students towards a future career and in their Christian faith.

     Remain current in their field by engaging in scholarly or clinical work and being active in professional organizations.

     Work strategically with diverse colleagues, students, and community members.

 

Qualifications:

      A master's degree in nursing which includes clinical preparation in a nursing specialty and preparation for the teaching role. Doctorate preferred.

      Demonstrated expertise in a nursing specialty area.

      Two years of clinical experience in the area of instruction and a minimum of one year full-time equivalency in clinical practice preferred.

      Current California RN license

      Current CPR Healthcare Provider Card at time of hire.

      Possess a commitment to high-quality instruction in an in-person or online student-centered environment.

      Proficient in computer, online, and learning management system skills.

Hiring Range: Adjunct per unit rate ranges from $1,260/unit - $1,785/unit
